ELIGIBILITY

Matana Foundation is a Prescribed Private Fund and as such can only make grants to organizations which have Income Tax Exempt Charity (ITEC) status and are a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).

If your organization does not have ITEC and DGR status, we will not be able to consider your application.

Evidence of endorsement as an ITEC and DGR will be required.

Organisations which have as one of their objectives to improve the opportunities of disadvantaged young people, are financially viable.

Although there is no minimum or maximum amount, grants of $1000 to $10,000 will be made. Assessment will be made on an individual basis and we may encourage grantseekers to apply to other sources or we may facilitate joint funding of projects.

Grants may be sought at any time where there is an urgent need, crisis or opportunities that require immediate action.

In general, ongoing funding will not be available, however the foundation will assess applications for ongoing funding where all other criteria have been met.

Seed funding, partnership funding, pilot funding and small grants will be considered.
